Chickasaw Communities

Originally home to hundreds of shipyard workers, today's Chickasaw is an up-and-coming area located on Highway 43 and feeds into Prichard to the south and Saraland to the north.  In 2012, the Chickasaw City Schools District was created to guide the educational activities of students at Chickasaw Elementary School and Chickasaw High School.

Chickasabogue Park is located near Chickasaw in Eight Mile and provides many outdoor and water activities for families. With gated access, this 1,100-acre park is popular for camping, disc golf, fishing, hiking, cycling and swimming. Canoes are also available for daily rentals with access to nearby waterways.
