The Baldwin County seat, Bay Minette is located just 35 miles from Mobile, offering southern charm with quick access to all the city has to offer. Approximately 8,500 residents live in the city limits of Bay Minette, and an additional 20,000 beyond city limits call North Baldwin home, according to the city. In addition to being home to a thriving timber industry, Bay Minette is also home to Standard Furniture, Quincy Compressors and the South Alabama Megasite, a 3,000 acre publicly owned area that’s equipped for industry. Baldwin County’s largest employer, the Baldwin County Board of Education, is also based in Bay Minette, as is Alabama Coastal Community College’s main campus. The college services nearly 9,000 square miles in south Alabama and offers more than 100 programs of study, according to its website.
